Want to pitch to the dragons? but not directly !

By Darina • Mar 23rd, 2009 • Category: Latest Entry

I’ve been watching the Irish version of Dragons Den over the last few weeks, sometimes enjoying it, sometimes with my eyes closed ! and sometimes really cringing both at the participants and the smart comments from the Dragons. In fact I interviewed Kelly from Mumstown for the mumcentric podcast. She was a hopeful participant on the very first episode and while she didn’t secure any investment she said the publicity and reaction to her website afterwards was worth it. If myself and Louise ever get our act together and get Mumcentric back on track you can listen to that interview!

Anyway if you have a fledgling business or a great idea and you really wanted to pitch it to the dragons (the original ones by the way ! ) but you didn’t fancy standing in front of them, now you have a chance.

The BBC version of Dragons Den have launched an online version with two new dragons where you can record your pitch and upload it onto the website. Thanks to Julie Hall from Women Unlimited who pointed this out to me.

You can see the details and also some of the pitches already submitted by going to this
website address

If you do decide to pitch..don’t forget to let me know :)

  1. Hi Darina, definitely don’t fancy pitching to dragons of any description :-)) but just wanted to say your blog is great- very informative!

  2. Even if you don’t make it on the show, there’s no such thing as bad publicity. I’ve seen some ideas that look great but the Dragons never go for them. Who’s to say someone else who’s watching doesn’t want a product for their own shop after seeing the programme.

  3. I don’t feel the need to face dragons - there are enough sharks in the world to contend with!
